16 Pounds an' What Do you Get?

An adorable, albeit tiny toddler! Kevin took Zoë for her fifteen month check-up last week and she weighed in at 16 lbs! The doctor said not to worry; she is very healthy, just slim. My only complaint is that we probably won't be able to turn her car seat face-forward until she is 2! (Note to non-parents, a rear facing car seat takes up a lot of room! And it is hard to pass things to a rear facing toddler!)

Here is an adorable picture of our homegirl enjoying peanut butter on toast. She makes such a mess it's better to feed her with as little clothes on as possible. If you look closely, you can see her first molar coming up on the left. This, along with another front bottom tooth, is causing our household some lost hours of sleep...alas.

Below is a lousy quality (taken with my cell phone) but cute picture of the Ubuntu picnic we went to a few weeks ago. Zoë met four sisters at the picnic - 5-year-old triplets and their big sister. Zoë had so much fun playing with the girls and they took very good care of her as you can see! And it was nice for me to have my hands free to eat all of the delicious food!

The other news is that the new semester starts at Zoë's daycare next week. It has been decided that Zoë will move out of the Transi room (transitional infants) and into the Young Toddler room. We were worried about her being too small for the YT room. However, the teachers told us that although Zoë is small, she is scrappy and has shown them that she can hold her own! That's our girl!

Newlyweds!

This weekend Zoë attended a very important wedding in Buffalo - her Aunty Sarah got married! Here is a snap of the newlyweds, Sarah and Zoë's newest uncle - Unky Paul!

The ceremony was right near Niagra Falls and was absolutely beautiful. After the ceremony, Zoë had some important advice to give Sarah and Paul.

Later, we all strolled down to see Niagra Falls - what a nice way for the families to get to know each other! When we got to the falls Zoë said, "WHOA!"

After a nice dinner out, we went back to Sarah and Paul's house for some delicious cake:

After all the wedding festivities on Friday, we were lucky to share a relaxing day with the newlyweds on Saturday. Zoë REALLY liked all the toys at Sarah and Paul's house. And she really liked playing with her Aunty Sarah:

Congratulations to Sarah and Paul and thank you so much for letting us share your special day!

In other news, when we got home after our trip to Buffalo Zoë climbed all the way up the stairs in our house! This is quite a feat considering how steep they are - each stair is about waist-high on her! Kevin and I were so proud (and horrified at this new mobility)! I guess she had to do something with all that pent up energy from sitting in the car!

Finally, from the kids-want-to-copy-everything-you-do file, Zoë LOVES "folding" the laundry. I suppose she will lose this fascination when she really knows how to do it - ha ha!

Busy, busy, busy...

Whoa - its been a long time since I have posted! Two weeks ago we went to spend the weekend with Grampa! Zoë was happy to show Grampa and Camy how she likes to whine and shriek when she is frustrated and/or overtired. What a bad houseguest! Otherwise we all had lots of fun checking out the town and walking on the beach. For Kevin and I it was nice to say, "Hey, you watch the baby for a minute." What a good job Grampa did:

Speaking of Zoë's shrieking, Kevin and I have been putting our finger to our mouths and saying SHHHH to get her to be quiet(er). Yesterday she shushed us right back! (But with her finger up her nose instead of on her lips - funny! I'll have to get a picture of that!)

We have been doing a lot of grilling these past few weeks. Turns out Zoë loves corn on the cob!

Finally, because of all the heat we have been having, we have been making a lot of trips to air conditioned places. Like the mall...

Do you see a future shop-a-holic here?
