Small and Sick

Baby Zoë is getting a lot better at standing! And she is so proud of herself! Kevin and I think she looks quite funny standing because she is so small.

It turns out she really is small...Zoë had her nine month check up this week and weighed in at 14 lbs. 14 oz. While she was in the 10th percentile at her last visit she is now "off the chart." Her height and head size are still hanging in around the 25th percentile. The doctor said she is a teeny bit concerned but since Zoë is otherwise healthy there is no need to see her again until her one year appointment and we'll go from there. Our orders for now are to try to get her to eat more fatty things like whole milk yogurt and avocados - yum!

Here is a picture of petite Zoë in her new (size 6-9 month) spring coat. Its HUGE! Luckily we have clothes from last summer that were too big for Zoë that look like they will be just right for this summer!

You may notice that Zoë looks a little sick in these pictures. Last week Kevin dragged home some germs. He was so sick he just set up camp on the couch. Then Zoë got sick and she camped out with him!

I guess Camy got sick too because she had to nap with them - ha ha:

Kevin is feeling better this week but Zoë is still miserable (runny nose, cough, etc.). Guess what our fussy baby LOVES? UNO!!

Who needs fancy baby toys?!

I think once ice cream season rolls around Zoe will put on a few pounds. That always works for me.

Mark is right. Those charts are created from data collected on bottle fed babies, who are generally fatter. As long as she's growing and not losing weight, then there is no need to worry. We can all see how happy she is.
